My Projects

NoSore

The Idea in Short

NoSore is a low-cost smart mattress topper I built to help prevent and relieve bedsores in bedridden patients. It uses pressure sensors to wirelessly notify caregivers when prolonged pressure over time could cause injury, allowing for timely repositioning and improved comfort.

Inspired by my grandmother’s struggle with bedsores, I designed NoSore to make effective care affordable for families and care facilities that can’t access expensive hospital-grade systems.

  • Silver Award at ICAN Preliminaries 2025

SmartPlast

The Idea in Short

SmartPlast is a portable toilet system I built from recycled hospital plastics to improve hygiene access for the elderly while reducing medical waste. The design uses a rotational molding process to create a lightweight, durable, and easy-to-clean structure that enhances safety and comfort for patients.

I developed SmartPlast after noticing how limited bathroom accessibility affected the dignity of many elderly patients. By turning discarded hospital plastics into a functional and sustainable product, it shows how practical engineering can bring comfort and environmental responsibility together.

FallAware

The Idea in Short

FallAware is a low-cost fall detection system I built to improve safety for the elderly. It’s a belt pack that automatically detects falls and sends instant alerts with the user’s location to a caregiver’s phone.

Most commercial fall detection devices are far too expensive for Thailand’s elderly population. FallAware offers an affordable and reliable solution that helps protect those most at risk while giving caregivers peace of mind.

ReTurbine

The Idea in Short

ReTurbine is an extremely low-cost renewable energy system I built that combines wind and solar power to help rural communities facing frequent outages caused by flooding and climate change. The turbine is made from recycled materials such as PVC blades, bicycle parts, and a low-cost generator that connects directly to solar systems for steady electricity production.

The project provides an affordable and sustainable way for off-grid communities to maintain power during emergencies while promoting environmental responsibility and self-reliance.

CycleNet

The Idea in Short

CycleNet is a scalable bicycle monitoring system I designed to improve safety and management for shared and rental bike networks. It detects falls or collisions and instantly sends alerts to a centralized network, allowing operators to respond quickly and ensure rider safety.

I led the project’s design and development, and it was later published by the Electrical Engineering Academic Association of Thailand (EEAAT) for its innovative approach to smart mobility and connected transportation systems.

Innovating for Good: Youth Designs Solutions for Seniors →

Inspired by caring for his grandparents, Parama Linpiyawan, a Grade 12 student at International Community School Bangkok, developed low-cost innovations for Thailand’s elderly: NoSore to prevent bedsores, SmartPlast to recycle medical plastics into furniture, and FallAware to detect falls. His award-winning projects promote dignity, safety, and environmental care for seniors.
